When Peggy first came to Bolton RSPCA her leg was very deformed. Her mum was a stray and had been taken in by a kind foster carer just before she gave birth. We were told that Peggy was born with the deformity so it was possibly congenital or maybe even a birthing injury.
Peggy went to a Private Vet for xrays so we would know exactly what we were dealing with. On the x-rays we could see her tarsal joints (ankle) were completely disarticulated giving the appearance of her foot being backwards.
Unfortunately, it was beyond scope for repair and so an amputation was the best option for her leading a happy comfortable life.
The surgery went very well and she was up on her three feet the same evening. Everyone fell in love with her beautiful big eyes and playful personality. She has now been adopted by the vet who did her surgery and loves living with her new cat brother and cat sister.
